Hunterdon County Accident Leads to One Victim Being Airlifted
A severe accident on Route 31 in Hunterdon County led to one person being airlifted away from the scene. Officials at the scene say that at least one person was taken to a local hospital after a head-on collision at the intersection of Sand Hill Road and Route 31.
Left turn accidents are, unfortunately, a leading cause of serious car accidents and fatalities. When an accident happens, it can leave surviving victims and the family members of anyone killed left to put the pieces back together and figure out how to move on. Any serious left turn accident may yield years of costly medical treatments. In most of these cases, the payments from health and car insurance may not be enough to provide support and coverage.
Officials were called to the scene just after noon and the mobile ICU for Hunterdon Medical Centre was also on hand to help with the victims. One person was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee and approached the intersection when they collided with an Infinity i30 carrying out a left turn.
This caused the Jeep Grand Cherokee driver to strike another vehicle making a left turn. The driver of that vehicle was critically injured and airlifted out of the scene. Debris, as well as oil from the crash, slowed the cleanup and traffic remained backed up on Route 31 as police moved cars around the collision. Serious accidents like this are often caused by negligence on the part of one or more drivers. This can lead to catastrophic injuries and even fatalities. If you or someone you know has been seriously injured in an incident like this, you need the help of an experienced personal injury lawyer to help you file a claim.
